Acknowledgment of Country

I acknowledge all Australians are equal and that the Chepara-Yugarapul and the Turrbal people were the Traditional Custodians of the SE-QLD land upon which I live, work and create on. I recognise their continuing and deep connection to the land, skies, stars, water and community. I pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging, as well as recognising that their sovereignty was never ceded. They are our oldest knowledge keepers, passing on culture and tradition so that we can preserve, share and cherish it.

The Turrabal group meets at the Balaangala Gardens located here in my home suburb, The Gap, Meanjin/ Brisbane QLD. This part of Brisbane is rich with indigenous history as we are situated at the foothills of Mount Coot-tha and Mount Nebo.
