Product Care

  • All functional ceramic pieces are deemed dishwasher safe and can be placed in a domestic dishwasher, I do recommend hand-washing especially with larger pieces for prolonged durability. Remember harsh detergents can dull some surfaces over time especially in dishwashers.  All pieces are NOT recommended for commercial dish-washing machines unless indicated.

Some pieces are highly textural and may require a little brushing to make sure no food is left behind. Use a little bi-carb + vinegar to remove any metal cutlery marks from satin or matte glaze finishes.

Please ensure any un-glazed bases or rims are thoroughly dried before placing on wooden furniture or storing away in cupboards.

Beware of extreme changes in temperature to avoid thermal shock to your functional wares. All pieces are handmade and not suitable for stove top cooking, BBQ/grill plates, open fires or gas flames.

Please don't put any terracotta pieces in the microwave as the high iron content in the clay is not suited for microwave heating.

Allow ceramics to warm up with the oven. All serving ware is oven safe to 100c warming temperature only.

  • All jewellery pieces are not designed to be worn in water. Please avoid direct contact with water, make up, perfumes, lotions, oils and sunscreens.

When putting on earrings please do not do this over a bathroom sink or a hard tiled surface. If dropped the ceramic is likely to break upon impact.

All studded earrings are made using Surgical Stainless Steel backs made in the USA and are hypoallergenic, which means they are safe for most people with allergies.

This is usually a great option for those with sensitivity to nickel, however I cannot guarantee it. If you react to wearing these studded earrings, you may need to seek Titanium backs.

All wood accents can be cleaned and renewed by simply rubbing a small amount of coconut or linseed oil to the fronts. Please do not use varnishes or lacquers.

All porcelain and ceramic accents can be cleaned using a damp cloth. Use a cotton tip to clean around any fiddly areas. Please avoid rubbing the gold rings. Do not use jewellery cleaner or soak your pieces.

  • How do I prevent candles from dripping? Candles burn best when placed upright on a flat, stable surface indoors and free from breezes. For best results ensure candles are placed away from air-conditioning vents and open doorways. Always select an appropriate candle holder to ensure your surfaces and table linens are protected.

How do I prevent candles from smoking? Our candles have pure cotton, lead free wicks and have been designed not to smoke, providing you keep the wick trimmed to 5mm – 8mm in length before each lighting. A candle wick trimmer is the ideal tool for this. Longer candle wicks are the primary cause of candle smoking and black soot forming around your candle glass.

Can I burn my candles outdoors? Candles burn optimally in indoor, protected environments free from breezes and air conditioning vents. However, should you wish to burn your candles outdoors, we recommend selecting an appropriate Candle Vase, Votive Holder or Cylinder Sleeve to protect the candle from breezes.

How do I store my candles? When not in use, candles should be stored in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Due to the all-natural products and dyes used, I recommend you avoid placing your candles next to windows or in direct sunlight as it may cause colour fading.

  • All incense on my website is high quality 100% natural therefore I recommend storing your incense far away from moisture and light. A cool and dark location would be optimal such as drawer or cabinet. Storing your incense in an airtight container typically allows the incense to store longer without losing scent. Keep the original tissue or paper wrap around your incense before storing to capture any excess oils.

Natural incense does not typically expire in the sense that it goes bad or becomes toxic. When stored properly, most quality incense sticks will keep scent for several years, but some types may lose fragrance after just a couple of years.

Clearing/Smudge sticks will generally have a shorter life, perhaps loosing their colour, however if stored properly may last 1-2 years.

    SAFETY WARNING:

Please do not use incense if you have any respiratory illness or maybe allergic to the ingredients. Some incense can be very strong when used indoors especially the large hand rolled sticks. Please ensure there is adequate ventilation when burning.

Please do not use if you are pregnant or around young children. Please take care not to leave incense unattended or around children and pets.

When lighting palo santo wood sticks, please take extra care with the naked flame and follow instructions for appropriate use.

  • All soaps are made from 100% pure essential oils, other natural oils, clay and dried florals, therefore I recommend storing your soap far away from moisture and light. A cool and dark location would be optimal such as drawer or cabinet.

Please do not use if allergic to the ingredients listed and please use caution of any ingredients not recommended for pregnancy.

  • To keep your wooden spoons and earrings in the best shape possible, follow these tips:

Hand-wash wooden utensils with warm water and mild dish soap. Do not wash them in the dishwasher or soak them in water.

Blot freshly washed wooden utensils with a clean dishtowel, then allow them to air-dry completely before putting them away.

If your wooden spoons or earrings develop spotted stains, start to look dry or don’t feel super smooth you can use a fine sandpaper to smooth over first then apply coconut oil or beeswax. Don’t use food-based oil like vegetable or olive oil since these types of oils can go rancid.

Highly pigmented foods, such as tomato sauce or berries, will stain wooden utensils and cutting boards.

Wooden items can absorb odours from strong flavours like garlic or oil and could transfer the odours and flavours to other foods. To reduce the smell, rub the wooden surface with the cut side of a halved lemon or with a paste made of baking soda and water. This will help neutralize the odour.

With these tips, your wooden kitchen utensils should last a long, long time.
